Just a short distance inland from the family  resort of Callao Salavje  is one of Tenerife's hidden rural gems  Adeje this Tenerife village come town has a history stretching back to prehispanic times and the Guanches.

Links have been made between the word Adeje - a small town in Tenerife to Adejad, a Berber tribe in Morocco.

The Town of   Adeje  has  all the  Tenerife History to explore

In the early days of the Guanches (native inhabitants of Tenerife), the municipality of Adeje in Tenerife south at higher altitudes was considered to be very fertile, especially around the Barranco del Infierno.

For this reason, the Guanches settled in the region of Adeje even at that time which was around 1495, the first houses and settlements had been constructed in Adeje. In the old town centre of Adeje, you can still see those buildings

. There are also the Basilica and the Ayuntamiento (district council house ).

In the course of time, the town certainly also changed and thus the town of Adeje consists nowadays of the old, upper part, where you can find a hotel with historic walls, and the lower part with beautiful villas and modern housing estates.

The town began to change, when the local residents  realised, that they could make use of the sunny location, especially on the coast  of Adeje.

Consequently, over the years,    more and more hotels, villas and    apartment  complexes, beaches,  golf courses  and other attractions  came into  being along the coast.

Due to the fact, that the south- west coast of Tenerife  is one of  the warmest and sunniest  regions. Adeje has  become more and more  important and today it is one of  the wealthiest  regions of Spain

Adeje town council would like Adeje to be known as the sports centre of all of Spain, with such favourable  weather conditions it is the perfect location for all outside sports activities

We have  fantastic  Olympic size pools                                                                                                                                                            Beautiful tennis courts
