The old town of Adeje
In the early days of the Guanches (native inhabitants of Tenerife), the municipality of Adeje in Tenerife with higher altitudes was considered to be very fertile, especially around the Barranco del Infierno in Adeje.
For this reason, the Guanches settled in the region of Adeje even at that time which was around 1495, the first houses and settlements had been constructed in Adeje. In the old town center of Adeje, you can still see those buildings where the elders of the town live today
In the course of time the area changed now the town of Adeje consists of the old sector, where you can find a Hotel with historic walls and original décor, there is also the the Ayuntamiento (town hall) and the large Catholic Church with typical Spanish bars restaurants with tree lined outside tables all along the main street. The town began to change, when the local residents realized, that they could make use of the sunny location, especially on the coast of Adeje. We now have the new modern sector with beautiful villas, modern housing estates and a large commercial center
Consequently, over the years more and more hotels, villas and apartment, beaches, golf courses and other attractions came into being along the coast.
Due to these facts that the south- west coast of Tenerife is one of the warmest and sunniest regions. Adeje has become more and more important and today it is one of the wealthiest regions of Spain
